Gear Review: ENO Hammock and tarp

I have been looking for a hammock to take hiking when I am under the tree line.  I wanted to replace my Bivy sack with something that offered a bit more airflow, but still kept me dry.  For Xmas this year I was surprised with the ENO hammock and tarp.  Over new years I got to try it out.
The ENO single nest weighs 18oz, and that includes two metal carabiners.  This is close in weight to my REI minimalist Bivy.  The tarp and cord weigh an additional 22oz.  You can also get a optional insect net.

Setup is a snap.  The longest part is trying to find two trees a respectable distance from each other with a good view.  The main hammock is connected via two metal carabiners, I choose to carry two loops of webbing to wrap around the tree, you could also use rope.  The rain tarp is held in place by the above clips that provide a easy way to cinch everything tight, in the event of wind.

I am happy with the over all construction of the hammock.  It is made out of durable ripstop nylon.  And I look forward to taking this with me this summer to Australia.

Oh, one last feature I thought was neat.  The pouch the entire hammock comes in, is actually a side pocket once you get it set up.  Nothing fancy, just a nice touch ..
